What is the name of this old movie?

I would say that the main character in the film is similar to Frankenstein. In this film, during the beginning, I remember a part where scientists were creating a woman for hims because he was lonely. But when she came to life, she was terrified of him, so they chased him off. During his adventure, he meets a drawf, they became friends, but the drawf later dies in or circus. ( well thats what I recall) I've since this film twice but it was a long time ago. I also remember that at the ending of the film, he reunites with the woman who was terrified of him at first.
