Food packet has nutrition infrmation.providing the calory infrmation. why we must lwe watch the cal,not joule?

yeah, i am confuse that why the company provide food information in calory, not joule? because calory means the energy needed to oxidize 1 gram of food. then, why dont we use joule instead of calory?
